ACCELERATING THE CONSTRUCTION, AIT GROUP SUCCESSFULLY ENERGIZES 110KV SONG LO SUBSTATION AHEAD OF NATIONAL HOLIDAYS

Developed by the Northern Power Grid Project Management Board under the Northern Power Corporation, the first phase of the project includes two feeder bays, one 110kV-40MVA transformer bay, one bus coupler bay, one main bus bay, one metering bay, one disconnector bay, one auxiliary control bay, and five outgoing line bays. AIT Group served as the contractor for procurement, transportation, and installation.

Aligned with the directive “Electricity First for Economic Development,” the project was fast-tracked to address the rising power demand of the Song Lo Industrial Cluster in Vinh Phuc Province. AIT Group, in coordination with its construction partners, committed to completing and handing over the substation by April 2024.

Despite site clearance challenges, thanks to the strong support from Vinh Phuc provincial authorities, the determination of the Northern Power Grid Project Management Board, and the tireless efforts of AIT Group and its partners, the Song Lo 110kV Substation was successfully energized at 01:02 AM on April 27, 2024

110kV Song Lo Substation

Once operational, the Song Lo Substation will help relieve load on the 110kV Lap Thach Substation, significantly improving power reliability for Lap Thach and Song Lo districts. It will also ensure stable electricity supply for Song Lo Industrial Parks 1 and 2, supporting the region’s industrial growth. The substation meets the criteria for an unmanned 110kV station, with full SCADA integration and surveillance camera connectivity to the Vinh Phuc Remote Control Center, the Northern Regional Load Dispatch Center, and the Northern Power Corporation’s Data Monitoring Center.

The successful commissioning and energization of the Song Lo 110kV Substation, completed as scheduled, not only helps ensure power reliability ahead of peak summer demand but also marks a strategic contribution to the Power Development Plan of Vinh Phuc Province and the broader Northern Power Grid master plan.
