AIT GROUP COMPLETES ENERGIZATION OF SHUNT CAPACITOR BANKS AT THREE 110KV SUBSTATIONS IN BAC GIANG PROVINCE

Overview of capacitor bank installation at 110kV Dinh Tram, 110kV Van Trung, and 110kV Van Trung 2 Substations

With extensive experience in implementing and completing medium-voltage busbar capacitor bank systems, AIT Group was honored to be entrusted by Bac Giang Power Company – a subsidiary of Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) – as the contractor responsible for equipment supply and construction for the capacitor bank installation projects at 110kV Dinh Tram, 110kV Van Trung, and 110kV Van Trung 2 substations.

Identified as one of EVNNPC’s key projects assigned to PC Bac Giang, the initiative aimed to complete energization of all three substation capacitor banks before the 2025 summer peak. To meet this goal, AIT Group’s engineers and staff worked with high determination, closely coordinating with the investor, meticulously planning each stage, and ensuring all work met both schedule and technical standards for safe and efficient operation.

By June 3, 2025, the capacitor banks at 110kV Dinh Tram and Van Trung substations were successfully tested and energized. The system at 110kV Van Trung 2 Substation followed closely, reaching completion on June 4, 2025. All systems are now fully connected to the Bac Giang Remote Control Center, enabling optimized manpower management in grid operation.

Capacitor bank at 110kV Van Trung 2 Substation successfully commissioned before the 2025 peak season

Thanks to the strong direction and support local authorities, EVNNPC leadership, and Bac Giang Power Company, the capacitor bank installation projects at 110kV Dinh Tram, Van Trung, and Van Trung 2 substations were successfully completed before the onset of the summer peak. Once operational, the systems will significantly improve power quality and reliability for critical loads in Bac Giang, driving local economic and social development while ensuring timely service to residents during high-demand periods.
