Overview of the 110kV Substation – Nam Bum 1A Hydropower Plan

The Nam Bum 1A Hydropower Plant is located on the Nam Long and Nam Bum streams, in Pa Cheo Hamlet, Hua Bum Commune, Nam Nhun District, Lai Chau Province. In preparation for the first synchronization of its generating units with the national grid, the investor required the early completion and commissioning of the 110kV substation.

With extensive experience in executing similar projects, AIT Group was trusted by the investor, Nam Bum 1A Hydropower Joint Stock Company, to act as the contractor for supplying materials, equipment, and installing the entire 110kV substation at the plant, along with accompanying services.

Despite the challenging and rugged mountainous terrain of Lai Chau, thanks to the close supervision of leadership and the dedication, determination, and swift efforts of AIT Group’s staff and participating contractors, the 110kV substation project was implemented in accordance with the investor’s requirements for both schedule and quality.

At 11:22 PM on June 23, 2024, the 110kV substation for the Nam Bum 1A Hydropower Plant was officially accepted and successfully energized. This substation will contribute to improving the stability and reliability of the power supply, reducing losses, and enhancing power quality once the Nam Bum 1A Hydropower Plant enters commercial operation.
