Overview of 110kV Dong Da Substation

On August 15, 2023, the 110kV Quy Nhon Port Substation and its connection project, invested by the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC), officially commenced with a total investment of nearly VND 300 billion. The project applied advanced and modern technologies in underground power grid development. For this project, AIT Group was honored to be the contractor responsible for supplying and transporting primary and secondary equipment, communication systems, SCADA, technical services, testing and calibration, as well as installation services.

Considered a key power project for Binh Dinh Province in particular and EVNCPC in general, the 110kV Quy Nhon Port Substation aims to strengthen stable electricity supply to meet the future development of the regional power grid. The substation is designed with a capacity of 2x63MVA; in this phase, one 110/22kV - 63MVA transformer has been installed, with space reserved for a second unit. The substation adopts unmanned digital substation technology and features a double-circuit 110kV transmission line with a total length of 5.825 km.

Thanks to the close support of local authorities and the leadership of the Central Power Corporation, AIT Group and other involved contractors worked together with urgency and determination, pooling resources to ensure both the progress and quality of the project, with the firm goal of completing it on time.

Overcoming many difficulties and challenges during construction, AIT Group’s staff and the contractors demonstrated commitment and determination to bring the 110kV Quy Nhon Port Substation to successful completion on September 29, 2024. Once operational, the project will enhance power supply to the Quy Nhon Port area and surrounding regions, contributing to local socio-economic development. It will also shorten the power supply radius for medium-voltage lines, ensure voltage quality, reduce power losses in the regional distribution network, and create a connection between the 110kV Dong Da Substation and 110kV Quy Nhon Port Substation to minimize the risk of large-scale outages. The project ensures reliable, timely, safe, and stable power supply in accordance with the N-1 standard.
