COOPERATING WITH MOBIFONE, AIT GROUP COMPLETES THE UPS SYSTEM INSTALLATION PROJECT FOR MOBIFONE C30 BUILDING

Centralized UPS system for telecommunications and IT equipment at the Mobifone C30 Building

Located in Ho Chi Minh City, the Mobifone C30 Building is a key data center (Tier I site) in the southern region for Mobifone. It is not only home to various departments of the Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation but also houses critical telecom equipment such as networking, transmission, radio, and IT systems.

Despite its importance as a central station in the South, the existing UPS system at the C30 building was outdated and of low capacity. After nearly 20 years of use, it had suffered multiple damages. The scattered, independently installed UPS units lacked integration, making operation and management difficult. Moreover, the entire load of the C30 data center was dependent on a single transformer, failing to meet Mobifone’s Tier 1 safety standards.

To mitigate potential network safety risks, Mobifone partnered with AIT Group to install a centralized UPS system with a 400kVA capacity, aimed at replacing the outdated, fragmented UPS units. In this project, AIT Group acted as the main contractor, responsible for supplying, installing, testing and commissioning (T&C), and training operational staff for the new UPS system.

The project’s scope included: a centralized UPS system ensuring secure power supply for 400kVA loads; lithium battery cabinets; low-voltage input switchboards; output distribution panels located in server rooms; servers and control computers; monitoring screens and software; centralized power monitoring sensors; and power cable trays, power supply cables, and control cables.

Despite facing numerous challenges—especially the complexity of construction while telecom systems remained operational—AIT Group’s team of engineers and staff proactively developed solutions that ensured absolute operational safety, upheld quality, met project timelines, and satisfied Mobifone’s stringent requirements. All construction methods were thoroughly analyzed and evaluated in advance, with detailed planning down to each individual item and precise scheduling, ensuring the project was handed over on time as committed.

The successful commissioning and operation of the centralized UPS system at the Mobifone C30 Building once again affirms AIT Group’s capabilities in delivering high-quality technology solutions for the telecommunications industry and data centers, contributing to the strong development of society in the era of Industry 4.0.
