Overview of Hung Thai 110kV Substation – Hai Duong

Commencing on July 20, 2024, the 110kV Transmission Line and Substation Project in Hung Thai, Hai Duong is classified as a Grade II energy infrastructure project, Group B. It is invested by Northern Power Corporation and directly managed by the Power Development Project Management Board. With a total investment of over VND 148 billion, the project involves the construction of a new double-circuit 110kV transmission line and a 110kV substation with a planned capacity of 2x40MVA (with one 40MVA transformer installed in this phase). All equipment installed in the substation meets the requirements for remote-controlled operation.

Among many bidders, the joint venture of the Advanced Information Technologies Corporation (AIT) and Hanoi Industrial Electricity Joint Stock Company was honored to be trusted and selected by the Power Development Project Management Board under the Northern Power Corporation as the contractor for supplying and installing equipment for the 110kV substation, as well as providing and installing the SCADA information system for four substations in Hai Duong, including the 110kV Hung Thai Substation Project.

With strong support and guidance from local authorities and the leadership of the Power Development Project Management Board, AIT Group and its partners immediately mobilized resources and commenced construction upon receiving the site handover. With a proactive and committed attitude, the project team overcame various challenges to meet the project timeline. Thanks to the concerted efforts of engineers and all staff members involved, the Hung Thai 110kV Substation was officially energized and safely put into operation on March 9, 2025.

Once in operation, the project will help enhance power supply capacity, meet the growing electricity demand in Ninh Giang District and surrounding areas, and contribute to the economic development and social welfare of Hai Duong Province. The project is aligned with the Hai Duong Provincial Power Development Plan for the period 2016–2025, with a vision to 2035, as approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade./.
