SUCCESSFUL COMMISSIONING OF THE 110KV TRANSMISSION LINE AND SUBSTATION AT KIM CHUNG

The Kim Chung 110kV substation, located in Hoai Duc District, Hanoi, is an outdoor compact modular station with a capacity of 2×40 MVA. The project was funded and managed by Hanoi Power Corporation, with AIT Group and associated contractors collaborating on its delivery.

Building on previous collaborations between AIT Group and EVN Hanoi, AIT was again entrusted to supply the energy metering cabinets, control signal collection panels, and station protection relay system—enabling protocol exchange and remote operation for an unmanned station.

As a strategically important project for urban and industrial development—and a key driver of socio-economic growth in Hanoi—the Kim Chung 110kV line and substation received close attention from EVN Hanoi leadership and local authorities. Through proactive and urgent efforts, AIT Group and its partners completed final commissioning at 05:15 on January 24, 2024

Once operational, the Kim Chung substation will supply power to industrial estates and residential areas in Hoai Duc District and neighboring regions, especially developments along National Route 32. It is designed to meet current and future load demands and will play a critical role in enhancing grid reliability in accordance with Hanoi’s power development plan for 2020–2025, with a view to 2035.

Energizing the Kim Chung 110kV substation on the eve of the Lunar New Year not only underscores the dedication of AIT personnel and all involved contractors but also fuels momentum toward achieving AIT Group’s 2024 objectives.
