Overview of Capacitor Bank Project at 110kV Substations: Thanh Thuy – Tam Nong – Thuy Van, Phu Tho

Commencing in November 2024, the installation of capacitor banks on the medium-voltage busbars at three 110kV substations Thanh Thuy – Tam Nong – Thuy Van served as the critical initiative, with Phu Tho Power Company – a branch of the Northern Power Corporation – acting as the investor’s representative. On the momentum of its early 2025 achievements, AIT Group was entrusted with the role of contractor for equipment procurement and installation across all three substations. The company successfully delivered safe and seamless integration of the capacitor systems, fully complying with all technical specifications and quality standards.

Driven by a high level of determination and a strong commitment to the project timeline, AIT Group engineers and employees, alongside partnering contractors, mobilized resources and maintained continuous operations—even through the Lunar New Year holidays—to ensure on-time key commissioning milestones, included: Thanh Thuy 110kV Substation – February 20, 2025; Tam Nong 110kV Substation – February 24, 2025; Thuy Van 110kV Substation – February 27, 2025.

Once operational, the project will enhance the safety and reliability of power supply at the three 110kV substations—Thanh Thuy, Tam Nong, and Thuy Van—meeting the electricity demands of critical loads in these districts of Phu Tho Province. It will also help improve grid stability, reduce power and energy losses, boost operational efficiency, and contribute to local economic development.
