SUCCESSFUL ENERGIZATION AND COMMISSIONING OF 110KV YEN THANG SUBSTATION

The 110kV Yen Thang Transmission Line and Substation project, launched on August 30, 2021, is led by Northern Power Corporation with a total investment of VND 105.33 billion.

As part of the second phase of the Efficient Grid Project for small and medium-sized cities, AIT Group was entrusted by Northern Power Corporation to procure, transport, and install equipment and SCADA control systems for the transmission line and substation.

Operating at a capacity of 40MVA (110/35/23kV), the Yen Thang Substation is equipped with remote communication systems connected to the regional control center, enabling unmanned operation.

Despite challenging weather conditions, including intense early summer heat, Northern Power Corporation, AIT Group, and partners accelerated construction progress, successfully commissioning the substation on schedule. This milestone alleviates load on the 110kV E3.1 Trinh Xuyen and E3.15 Y Y substation, enhances power quality, strengthens grid connectivity, reduces supply radius, and minimizes voltage loss in the medium-voltage grid. It effectively meets the growing power demand during the 2023 summer and beyond in Y Yen and Vu Ban districts of Nam Dinh Province, and more broadly in Northern Vietnam’s power network.
