The 110kV Transmission Line and Substation Project in Kien Thuy was invested by Hai Phong Power One Member Limited Liability Company with a total capital of over VND 125.2 billion. The project included the construction of a new 110kV transmission line over 3.3 kilometers long, and a 110kV substation equipped with a 63MVA transformer, primary and secondary equipment, a camera monitoring system, and an automatic fire protection system. The substation was designed for

unmanned operation, monitored and controlled remotely from the regional SCADA center.

As a reputable contractor with proven experience in many key power projects, AIT Group was once again trusted to supply the main equipment for the Kien Thuy 110kV substation.

With Hai Phong’s rapid economic growth, the city’s electricity demand has surged. Between 2021 and 2023, the commercial electricity consumption grew at an average of 8.63% per year. Therefore, it was essential to accelerate the completion of the Kien Thuy 110kV project to meet the increasing power demand from residential and industrial users in Kien Thuy, and also serve as a backup supply for nearby districts, including Do Son, Kien An, and Duong Kinh. At the request of the Investor, AIT Group coordinated closely with relevant contractors, mobilizing all necessary human and material resources to ensure project quality and timely delivery.

Thanks to relentless efforts and strong commitment, the project was successfully energized and accepted for operation on June 22, 2024—just six months after implementation began. On June 29, 2024, the substation was officially inaugurated and recognized as a commemorative project for the 55th anniversary of the Northern Power Corporation (October 6, 1969 – October 6, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the Vietnamese Electricity Industry (December 21, 1954 – December 21, 2024).

Once in operation, the Kien Thuy 110kV Transmission Line and Substation will help ensure the safe and stable operation of the regional power system. It will reduce power supply distances, minimize voltage losses in the medium-voltage grid, and pave the way for developing a smart distribution grid to meet electricity needs for daily life, socio-economic development, and investment attraction in Kien Thuy District in particular, and Hai Phong City in general.
