SUCCESSFULLY ENERGIZED THE 110KV LY THUONG KIET 2 SUBSTATION – HUNG YEN.

Aligned with the provincial power grid development plan approved by the Hung Yen People’s Committee, this project targets key industrial zones and clusters within the province. The substation officially passed acceptance tests and was energized on December 24, 2023.

Overview of the Substation

Built as a digital, unmanned substation, Ly Thuong Kiet 2 has a capacity of 2x63MVA (with one 63MVA transformer installed in this phase). It features fully integrated 110kV equipment, medium-voltage feeder cabinets, and an advanced system for data acquisition, metering, remote monitoring, and control. This enables seamless communication with the regional remote control center via standardized protocols.

Overview of the Substation

As a modern digital substation, the 110kV Ly Thuong Kiet 2 employs optical technology to convert measurement, control, status, and alarm signals from primary equipment located outdoors—either at the circuit breaker (CB) cabin level or directly from devices. These signals are transmitted via optical converters and fiber optic cables to the relay/BCU devices housed in the protection and control cabinet within the central control room. Data transmission from outdoor equipment to the control room is fully digitized using Process Bus technology in compliance with IEC 61850-9-2 standards. This makes the 110kV Ly Thuong Kiet 2 one of the most advanced substations currently in operation.

AIT Group was entrusted as the contractor to supply primary and secondary equipment, protection and control cabinets, and to deliver comprehensive digital substation solutions. With strong support from local authorities and coordinated efforts among contractors, the project overcame multiple challenges and was successfully completed and put into operation by the end of December 2023.
