TARGETING THE YEAR 2024 GOALS, AIT GROUP ADVANCES AMATA 2 110KV SUBSTATION TO COMPLETION

Overview of the Amata 2 110kV Substation, Song Khoai IP – Quang Ninh

Strategically positioned near Hai Phong Port and directly connected by road to the Mong Cai international border gate, the Song Khoai Industrial Park plays a pivotal role in the development of the Quang Yen Coastal Economic Zone and continues to attract major investments to Quang Ninh Province. To meet the growing demand for power supply, prevent production disruptions, and reduce energy losses for businesses operating in the park, the construction of an additional substation became an urgent necessity.

Building on the success of the Amata 1 substation project, AIT Group was once again trusted by Amata City Ha Long Joint Stock Company, to serve as the EPC contractor for the Amata 2 110kV substation. The contract scope includes surveying, design, equipment supply, permitting, and full construction of the substation, in compliance with all legal procedures—covering planning, construction, testing, and energization—as part of Phase 1 of the Song Khoai Industrial Park development. Beyond executing construction and installation, AIT Group also directly managed and completed all regulatory and legal requirements for the project, ensuring the substation could operate safely and stably immediately upon energization.

Leveraging extensive experience from numerous large-scale EPC projects, AIT Group engineers and project partners demonstrated strong commitment and mobilized all available resources to ensure the project was completed on schedule and to the highest quality standards. On November 30, 2024, the Amata 2 110kV substation was officially accepted and energized—marking a significant achievement in celebration of AIT Group’s 21st anniversary (December 1, 2003 – December 1, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam electricity sector (December 21, 1954 – December 21, 2024).

Amata 2 substation plays a key role in reducing the load on the Amata 1 substation, meeting the rising demand for electricity, strengthening the regional power grid, and improving the reliability of power supply throughout the Song Khoai IP after commissioning. This project is expected to contribute meaningfully to local economic growth, social and cultural development, and the overall quality of life for communities in the area.
