TOWARDS ACHIEVING THE FIRST-HALF-YEAR TARGET, AIT GROUP SUCCESSFULLY ENERGIZES SAM SON 2 110KV SUBSTATION

Commencing in September 2023, the Sam Son 2 110kV Transmission Line and Substation Project has been evaluated as one of the key projects of the Northern Power Corporation. The project aims to provide an additional 110kV power source for the increasing load demand of Sam Son City and to reduce the load on the existing Sam Son 110kV Substation. In this project, AIT Group was once again entrusted by the investor—the Power Grid Project Management Board of the Northern Power Corporation—as the contractor responsible for supplying, transporting, and installing equipment for the 110kV substation.

Despite the complex nature of the transmission line interconnection—especially with sections involving upgrades to live power lines, which had to maintain power supply to Sam Son 110kV Substation, Thanh Hoa City 110kV Substation, and other substations in the area—AIT Group’s dedicated team and construction partners overcame the challenges with commitment and resilience. The Sam Son 2 110kV Transmission Line and Substation Project met the investor’s requirements in terms of both progress and quality.

Thanks to the urgent working spirit and smooth coordination among all involved units, the Sam Son 2 110kV Substation was successfully commissioned and energized at 8:55 PM on June 12, 2024. Once operational, the substation will enhance grid interconnection, improve power supply stability and reliability, meet the N+1 reliability standard, reduce power loss, and improve power quality in Sam Son and across Thanh Hoa Province.
