TOWARDS COMPLETING THE 2025 PLAN, AIT CORP SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERS THE SHUNT REACTOR INSTALLATION PROJECT AT DI LINH 500KV SUBSTATION
In celebration of the 71st Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam’s Power Industry (December 21, 1954 – December 21, 2025), on December 14, 2025, AIT Corp, together with related contractors, successfully energized the Shunt Reactor Installation Project at the Di Linh 500kV Substation in Lam Dong Province. The project contributes to optimizing reactive power compensation capacity, stabilizing voltage, and enhancing the reliability of the transmission grid as the system enters the synchronized operation phase of the 500kV Circuit 3 transmission line.

AIT Corp was honored to be selected as the contractor responsible for the supply and transportation of shunt reactors and the installation of 500kV shunt compensation equipment at the Di Linh 500kV Substation, aiming to optimize reactive power compensation following the commissioning of the 500kV Circuit 3 line. This is a Group B project invested by EVNNPT and managed by CPMB, implemented within the premises of eight existing 500kV substations currently operating on the national transmission grid, including: Son La 500kV Substation (Son La Province); Ha Tinh 500kV Substation (Ha Tinh Province); Da Nang 500kV Substation and Thanh My 500kV Substation (Da Nang City); Doc Soi 500kV Substation (Quang Ngai Province); Pleiku 500kV Substation and Pleiku 2 500kV Substation (Gia Lai Province); Di Linh 500kV Substation (Lam Dong Province).

Recognizing this as a critical project addressing voltage stability challenges amid the rapid expansion and increasing transmission load of the 500kV grid along the North–Central–South corridor, AIT Corp closely coordinated with all involved contractors, demonstrating strong determination to complete the project on December 14, 2025—a meaningful achievement commemorating the Traditional Day of Vietnam’s Power Industry.

In the context of strong seasonal load fluctuations and the rapid growth of renewable energy sources, shunt reactors serve as a vital “regulating valve,” enabling the 500kV system to maintain stable operation under all operating conditions. Once in operation, the project will help complete the regional reactive power compensation configuration, facilitate optimal voltage control, and reduce costs associated with hydropower dispatch for compensation purposes—thereby contributing to socio-economic development in Lam Dong Province and neighboring regions./.
